How we work out who qualifies
We help all members and ex members of the Performing Right Society and their dependants. We treat each application on its merits and with the strictest of confidence. Once you fill in and return the application form the staff and trustees of the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund will look at your situation and circumstances. We will make a payment once we have considered your income, expenditure and circumstances. Sometimes we will suggest that one of our Visitors meet you at home to make a proper assessment.
Everything you tell us will be treated in strict confidence.
If you know a member who needs our help
We also accept referrals from friends, family and professionals. So if you know someone who you think may qualify for help then please contact us.
What we can’t help with
As a registered charity we are not able to help with:
- Payments as an advance against future royalties
- The costs of buying a home
- The promotion costs of any commercial venture
- Supporting composers who don’t have any other employment
According to our regulations we do not need to give our reasons for turning down an application for assistance. Follow the link to read a full copy of our regulations.
