Seeking Help

After 40 years in the music industry, I know that even the most successful songwriters can sometimes struggle. Illness and accidents can strike at any time, and that's why the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund is here to help.” Don Black

Who We Can Help

We give financial support and advice to PRS members and their families, as well as ex-members of PRS and dependants of deceased members who have been affected by illness, disability, accident or conditions associated with old age.

We require that applicants have held PRS membership for seven years or more for us to consider their request. We treat every application in the strictest of confidence and will offer appropriate help once we've considered individual income, expenditure and circumstances.

We know sometimes people find it hard or embarrassing to ask for help. Don't be. This is your Fund, so please use it.

Do you know someone who needs our help? We accept referrals from fellow PRS members, family and care workers. To get in touch email fund@prsformusic.com or call 020 7306 4067.

What We Can't Help With

As a registered charity we cannot help with:

  • Payments as an advance against future royalties
  • The costs of buying a home
  • Promotion costs of any commercial venture
  • Supporting composers who don't have any other employment
